Food for Thought

On this page you will find a variety of categories of what I call "Food for Thought." I have a section for books and articles that I have read that have influenced my beliefs (I have provided a brief personal review of these). I also have a section for music that I have found thought-provoking and/or spiritually challenging. Finally, I have a section for links to other places on the web that I think are worth visiting. this page is just in its beginning stages, so there is not much here now. Reading Material

Eldredge, John. Wild at Heart. Nashville, TN: Thomas Nelson, 2001.

Although I did not necessarily agree with everything in this book, I nonetheless found it to be an encouraging and heartwarming insight as to what it means to be a Christian man. John Eldredge convincingly shows how God created men to be much more intricate than the stereotypical moulds we and our culture often try to squeeze us into.

Manning, Brennan. The Ragamuffin Gospel. Sisters, OR: Multnomah, 2005.

This is a wonderful book! It is a relatively easy read that still packs a potent theological and spiritual punch. Brennan Manning illustrates the heart-warming and tear-jerking reality of God's love and grace for us in the midst of of our weakness and depravity. Brennan also skillfully shows that while God has reached down to meet us at our lowest points, He loves us too much to let us stay there.
