Bike In Ice

(58-30)

I took this picture during my senior year of college. Somebody (and no it wasn't me) had thrown this bike into the pond in the center of campus, from the looks of it about halfway through the snowstorm. As the snow continued to fall and the pond continued to freeze, it actually assimilated the bike into the ice in much the same way a tree growing near wires will, over time, grow around the wires until they run through the tree. While I feel bad for whoever owned the bike, something about this picture fascinates me and I am grateful to have been able to capture this image.
