Hanging Peppers

(29-37)

My family never really had money to go on vacation, so we would often spend a few weeks of the summer up at my grandparent's house. I always found a wide variety of subjects for my photography around their home. This particular picture reminds me most of my grandfather. My grandfather and I share many similarities, including a love of growing things. At any time of year you could find something growing in or around my grandparent's house. My grandfather's pride and joy was his garden (especially his tomatoes of numerous varieties and his cucumbers, which my grandmother made into the most delicious pickles). These peppers had been freshly picked and were hanging to dry in the kitchen when I found this photo opportunity.
